Support my challenge to help Australian kids in need
I am taking part in The Dream Run to help Australian kids in need achieve their dreams.
1 in 6 Australian children are living in poverty and don’t have equal access to an education. Together, we need to support these kids so they can dream BIG and create a better future for themselves.
So I am taking on this challenge and raising funds for The Smith Family to help children in need make the most out of their education.
Please DONATE NOW and support my challenge to change the lives of Australian children living in poverty.
Thank you.

Thursday 5th June, Melbourne murals
Thursday 5th Jun
Up early, first a slow walk and slower exploration of the "She Matters" mural in Hosier Lane, created for International Women's Day in 2024. Not to be walked past. Later a longer walk through the streets with a dear friend, breakfast st Seedling Cafe before heading to work.

Wednesday 4th June, Melbourne city walks
Thursday 5th Jun
Up well before dawn for a 6am flight to Melbourne, meetings between Docklands and CBC had me walking there and back twice for just under 7k to add to the tally, and a long evening stroll tipped me over 10. It’s always weird to wake up on our 10 acres in the bush at Margate and find yourself in the city that night … loud, colourful, somewhat clanging. Looking forward to going home tomorrow!

Tuesday 3rd June, Battery Point & Salamanca
Thursday 5th Jun
Into the city very early and parked away from the office to create time for a walk! Gorgeous early stroll around Battery Point and Salamanca, then headed back to the office for a day of work. Added a lunch time walk for an extra 1.5 k.

Day 1 Sunday 1 June 17.4 k ‘walk in the park’
Thursday 5th Jun
My day started with a (very) quick dip at Kingston Beach before heading to kunanyi/Mt Wellington for a perfect day of walking. Aidan joined me for the swim + Ferntree to the Springs … before heading off for a run. I continued at a sedate pace … Pinnacle to Zig Zag, South Wellington to Smith’s Monument for lunch, before heading down via Icehouse, Mills Track, Snake Plains and back on to the Pipeline track. Approx 17.5 km and 1000 mt elevation (most in the first 4ks) - some easy walking, some tricky rock and boulder sections, long ups, steep downs and a lot of water on snake plains (where I got unintentionally soggy!). It was beautiful, the landscape shifting again and again from tall eucalypts peeling bark in long ribbons, masses of Mountain Pinkberries, mossy gullies and soft ferns, alpine heath and bent shrubs, cushion plants, lichen, funghi …All the good stuff plus the views … I don’t have words to describe just how crisp and clear this day was! Bruny and beyond and the southern ranges felt closer than I’ve seen them before and I felt very small, very connected.
